Republican presidential candidate Ohio Gov. John Kasich said Sunday that he thinks an open convention would be a whole lot of fun — so fun, in fact, that kids will pry their eyes from reality TV and ears from Justin Bieber’s music to tune into politics.

Kasich discussed the possibility of an open convention on ABC News’ “This Week” when host George Stephanopoulos asked him about a rule that would prevent him from winning the nomination because he hasn’t won a majority of delegates in eight states.

Kasich told him he wasn’t going to “spend time on process.”

“We just have to keep going and we’re going to have an open convention. And, George, you’re the guy that gets open conventions. It’s going to be so much fun,” Kasich said. “Kids will spend less time focusing on Bieber and Kardashian and more time focusing on how we elect presidents. It will be so cool.”

“I thought you liked Justin Bieber,” Stephanopoulos replied before asking another question.

Kasich didn’t clarify whether he liked Bieber.

  1. What utter nonsense. Kasich’s ego and pretend moderation has gotten him nowhere with the young folks I know. They aren’t fooled.

  2. would that be like one of those Clockwork Orange deals where they tie the kids into seats and clip their eyes open while forcing them to listen to happy nonsense about how much they enjoy the event?

  3. It’s going to be so much fun.

… because trashing millions of votes from their looney base is a barrel of laughs.

If they’d just allow guns in Quicken Loans Arena, it’d be even more of a blast.

  4. So Gov “I’m not going to answer that now” Kasich thinks his daughters are going to watch? LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  5. I don’t know any “youngsters” who watch the Kardashians. I thought their audience was overweight rednecks in their mid 40s.
