A federal judge on Wednesday struck down Indiana’s ban on same-sex marriages, according to the Indiana Star.
U.S. District Judge Richard Young said the ban violated the Constitution’s equal protection clause.
It was not immediately clear whether gay couples can begin marrying immediately, according to the Associated Press.
One by one, every unconstitutional law designed to strip the LGBT community of its civil right to marry is being struck down.
This makes it more likely that the Supremes will have to rule on marriage equality in the next term.
“It was not immediately clear”
The AP must have a keyboard macro for that phrase. Almost every AP article contains it.
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin’
