Matthew Keys, a deputy social media editor at Reuters who has been indicted for allegedly conspiring with the hacker group Anonymous, denied the charges against him in a Facebook post Wednesday evening.

“I did not give a username and a password to anyone,” Keys wrote. “I did not ‘conspire’ to ’cause damage to a protected computer.’ I did not cause ‘transmission of malicious code,’ and I did not ‘attempt’ to cause ‘transmission of malicious code.'”

He added: “My attorneys have said much of the same over the past few days, but I feel it might mean more coming from me directly.”

Keys faces three charges and could face up to 25 years in prison and $750,000 in fines if convicted on all counts. As TPM reported last week, Keys’ has been suspended with pay from Reuters. The alleged hacking took place before Keys joined Reuters.
