Jon Stewart and his wife, Tracey Stewart, on Saturday confirmed that they will turn their New Jersey farm into a sanctuary for abused and neglected animals.
The Stewarts will set up their farm as a branch of Farm Sanctuary, a group that works to end inhumane farming practices that has branches in New York and California. Tracey Stewart announced the plans during a Farm Sanctuary gala on Saturday night.
“We’re getting married. Farm Sanctuary and us, we’re getting married,” she said. “We’re going to build new advocates, new curious learners, and new leaders for this very important movement.”
The Stewarts’ farm, Bufflehead, is already home to four pigs, two of which were rescued from the side of the road in Georgia, according to the New York Times.
Tracey Stewart recently published a book, “Do Unto Animals: A Friendly Guide to How Animals Live, and How We Can Make Their Lives Better.”

Dang. Jon Stewart is off the air for no more than a few weeks and he turns into James G. Blaine.
She was a vet tech when they met, so I don’t think this is really new…
Thank you Jon and Tracey.
Jon, you have an amazing legacy of exposing buffoonery, but more important is your effort for vets and the 9/11 first responders.
Keep on being our critic and our conscience … we need somebody just like you.
And 1 from an Amtrak ‘quiet’ car…
Groovy dude. Have fun. The kids will love it too.
