Jon Stewart unleashed several blows Tuesday on his favorite cable news punching bag, savaging CNN for shifting from a “simplistic, partisan worldview to a simplisticier one.”

The “Daily Show” crew mocked CNN’s tendency to view stories through a black-and-white prism, cycling through clips of the network’s anchors posing some variation of a maddeningly glib question: “Is it a good thing or a bad thing?”

“Good thing or bad thing?” Stewart mocked. “Let’s go to our analyst, Flippy The Coin.”

And although he noted that the question “extends across the network,” Stewart especially marveled at Wolf Blitzer, whose commitment to the good vs. bad style of reporting forced even Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) to “dumb it down.”
