Jon Stewart said Wednesday he’s not surprised that Bill de Blasio and his family won over New York City primary voters.
Stewart said that after 12 years of Michael Bloomberg — or “Captain Soda Narc” —New Yorkers might be eager for a family like the de Blasios, whose biracial family figured prominently in the Democrat’s mayoral campaign. De Blasio’s 16-year-old son, Dante, became something of an icon on the campaign trail after starring in a campaign ad widely credited with triggering his father’s rise in the polls.
“Who is better than this family? Nobody is better than this family,” Stewart declared, before paying homage to Dante’s now-famous afro.
