Do Donald Trump’s “gaffes” really hurt him? A super PAC supporting Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) is betting on it.

In a newly released web ad titled “Trump’s Greatest Hits,” the New Day for America super PAC strings together some of Trump’s most over-the-top Trumpisms since he jumped into the Republican primary, including the one where he tells The View’s hosts that “if Ivanka weren’t my daughter perhaps I’d be dating her.”

The mashup also highlights Trump’s disdain for Fox News host and debate moderator Megyn Kelly as it asks “Presidential?, Commander in Chief?”,”Leader of the Free World?”

The web ad is the first in a series the super PAC has planned, according to a report in Politico. The PAC intends to spend $2.5 million on Trump-bashing efforts. The ad also draws the public’s attention to Trump gems like the one where he disparaged Arizona Sen. John McCain (R) –a POW who was held in a Vietnamese prison for more than five years.

“He’s a war hero because he was captured,” Trump said.

    No. Next question.

  2. Looks pretty softball. In the eyes of Trump’s supporters, these statements are good, true and righteous. Come on, guys, you’re attempting to shame the shameless – it ain’t gonna work.

  3. Given what Josh said earlier today, if Rump hasn’t been taken down YET despite these “Trumpisms” what makes Kasich think it’s gonna work now in some sort of mashup?? This is just lame, weak tea

  4. Kasich trying to appear as the reasonable adult in the GOP field. All you need to do is look at some of his rightwing policies as Governor of Ohio, and you’ll see he’s only better than tRump because he just implements RWNJ policies, without all the bluster.

Remember, Kasich pushed ending Collective Bargaining. He also applied for, and got a waiver to extend SNAP benefits for rural (read predominantly White) counties in Ohio, but not for urban (read predominantly Minority) counties. He’s also said very little about the killings of John Crawford and Tamir Rice. On top of that, he’s said nothing about police misconduct in his state. So SCREW him.

  5. Maybe an effort to portray himself as Jack the Giant Killer to the E$tablishment mover-shakers? Not sure what else he’d hope to accomplish at this point.
