Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) back tracked from his modest position of being unsure if his “purpose” was to be President at Megyn Kelly’s voter forum on Wednesday night on Fox News.
At a town hall on Tuesday, a voter asked Kasich if he was “going to live out your purpose” at the upcoming debate in Texas. Kasich told the Georgia audience, “First of all, I don’t know if my purpose is to be president. My purpose is to be out here doing what I think I need to be doing, and we’ll see where it ends up.”
Kasich’s show of modesty became Kelly’s first question on Wednesday night. “If you aren’t sure, why should the voters be?” Kelly asked.
“No, Megyn, look. Here’s the thing: My purpose is to be President. That’s why I put one foot in front of the other,” Kasich said.
