John Boehner’s back, baby! Well, at least to where he was before the government shutdown.

According to a new Gallup survey released Wednesday, the House Speaker is enjoying a slight boost to his favorability at a level not seen since his caucus pushed to shut down the federal government over funding to Obamacare in October.

Thirty-two percent of Americans now view Boehner favorably, compared to 50 percent who view him unfavorably, according to the poll. The 16-day shutdown tarnished the GOP brand and pushed the Speaker’s favorability to a low of 27 percent.

Boehner held a rare face-to-face meeting with President Obama at the White House on Tuesday, discussing a range of issues.
