A spokesman to Vice President Joe Biden said that he would host a high school reunion and then watch the first Democratic presidential debate — from home, according to reports on Tuesday afternoon.

“Tonight, Vice President Biden will host a high school reunion following which he will watch the Democratic debate at the Naval Observatory,” the spokesman told Business Insider.

An aide reportedly told the same information to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller.

“People close to him” have already said he would not participate in the debate. The debate is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET.

  1. He’ll have it on in his basement rec room, while he’s playing air hockey.

  2. In January 2017, just before HRC or Sanders is sworn in, will the media still be breathlessly speculating about Biden? “The electors still have a chance to change their minds and cast their lot with Joe Biden! It’s not over yet!”

The guy’s not effing running (unless HRC flames out and the DNC runs around like headless chickens for an acceptable replacement - Sanders being not acceptable to them). And shame on him for not shutting down the over caffeinated minute to minute WILL HE RUN “reporting”.

  3. This article reminds me that you can actually see the Naval Observatory on Google Earth again now that we don’t have a paranoid Veep anymore.

  4. Now maybe CNN will put their idiotic empty podium away…nah, they’ll keep it there so they can keep cutting away to it to build up another fake narrative. Any bets they cut to it during the debate?
