Jody Hice, pastor, talk radio host, and one of the Republicans in a runoff to replace Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA), argued that the gay community had a secret plan to attract and sodomize children.
That’s according to Hice in his 2012 book “It’s Now or Never: A Call To Reclaim America.” The claim was highlighted by Mother Jones on Wednesday.
Hice (pictured) also likened people in same-sex relationships to incest or bestiality.
“People love all kinds of other people and things, but that does not grant permission for marriage,” Hice wrote. “It is illegal to marry a child or a sibling. It is illegal to marry a pet, which many people love dearly.”
Hice managed to secure a runoff spot in the race for Broun’s seat on Tuesday night. In July he’ll face Michael Collins in the race.
He argues that Muslims shouldn’t have first amendment rights and that people who support abortion rights are worse than Adolf Hitler. And Hice contends that being gay causes depression and shorter life spans.
There’s more though. Hice, in his book, also calls local law enforcement in Elmira, New York “the Gestapo” after they arrested anti-gay demonstrators.
Here’s the rub. In arguing against homosexuality in his book Hice cited a column by Michael Swift, who is gay, in 1987. Here’s the column, as noted by Mother Jones:
We shall sodomize your sons, emblems of your feeble masculinity, of your shallow dreams and vulgar lies. We shall seduce them in your schools, in your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in your locker rooms, in your sports arenas, in your seminaries, in your youth groups, in your movie theater bathrooms, in your army bunkhouses, in your truck stops, in your all male clubs, in your houses of Congress, wherever men are with men together. Your sons shall become our minions and do our bidding. They will be recast in our image. They will come to crave and adore us.
The problem though is that Hice didn’t note that the piece was a satirical essay.
Hice contends that being gay causes depression and shorter life spans.
And that’s all due to small minded morons like YOU.
Then it’s never, fool. You’re never, ever, ever getting “your country” (as if “your country” ever even existed) back. We, minorities, women, gays, liberals, Jews, atheists, Muslims, etc, have finally taken what’s our’s and we’re not giving it back. You’ll have to pry it from our cold, dead hands.
How does he know it’s secret ?
