Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) said on Thursday that Hollywood and corporations are working in cahoots to destroy freedom for Christians, not just in states pushing for “religious freedom” laws, but all across the country.

“We saw a very unusual alliance this week,” Jindal told a crowd at an Iowa homeschooling event, according to video obtained by Right Wing Watch. “We saw an alliance between Hollywood elites and corporate America assaulting the rights of Christians.”

Jindal shared a stage with three other presidential candidates, including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who for his part said that gay people are waging a “jihad” against believing Christians.

“We need to remind these elites that America did not create religious liberty,” he went on, “religious liberty created the United States of America, and it is the reason we are here today.”

Jindal expressed his disappointment last week when Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R) welcomed changes to the state’s “religious freedom” law that would guarantee that businesses could not discriminate against serving gay couples.
