A school district that borders Ferguson, Mo, said Friday that it would cancel classes next week in anticipation of the grand jury decision in the Michael Brown shooting being announced.

Television station KDSK reported that the Jennings School District had decided to close its schools starting on Monday. The district had originally only been scheduled to be off Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving break.

The St. Louis County prosecutor’s office has been preparing for a press conference to announce the decision, suggesting one might be imminent.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon (D) has already declared a state of emergency and activated the state national guard in advance of the grand jury decision.

  1. Here’s what I would do should a ruling be against indictment. Stay home. Stay inside. Call all my friends who were hoping for an indictment and urge them to do the same. Then, when the rioting happens, it would be clear who the real agitators are.

  2. I’m going with no indictment and clearly the governor and everyone else already know it…

  3. Oh yes QED what could be simpler?

  4. Jennings is the corrupt rat hole the pr*ck Wilson came from, but I digress. Apparently these Rhodes Scholars think a week of playing in the snow will make the little tykes forget all about what brought them this bounty in the first place. There’s no way the little loves will still be pissed off when they return, especially when they have to make up the time. A leadership of damn fools!

  5. Yep, I’m absolutely prepared to spend that night as sad as I was when the Zimmerman verdict came down.

There’s no point in rioting. All it does is confirm that black folk don’t know how to act. Instead, I would prefer that we do as we did after the Zimmerman verdict. Hold hands, cry, sing “We Shall Overcome”, understand that the struggle continues, and learn to vote every damn time we have the opportunity.
