White House spokesman Jay Carney said Thursday his predecessor was wrong to surmise that Obamacare’s employer mandate won’t ever take effect.

“I don’t,” Carney told reporters, when asked if he agreed with Robert Gibbs, who was quoted by a local Colorado paper as saying the mandate “will be one of the first things to go.”

“You can make predictions all the time that turn out not to be true,” Carney said.

The employer mandate requires large businesses to provide insurance to their workers, and has been delayed by the White House.
