Jason Collins made history when he entered Sunday night’s game between the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers.

Collins signed with the Nets on Sunday, making him the league’s first active openly gay player. He made his debut the same day.

Despite wearing the colors of the visitors, Collins received a warm reception from the Staples Center crowd in Los Angeles when he checked into the game during the second quarter.

Collins came out of the closet last year.
