CLEVELAND – Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) bashed the last-ditch effort by the Never Trump movement to disrupt the GOP convention in a brief interview with TPM on the Quicken Loans Arena floor.

“I think it’s sad that they won’t respect that the people’s vote counts for something,” Brewer, an early Trump endorser, said. “I would have respected it if it had gone to somebody else so I don’t understand why they’re creating this kind of an issue for the Republican Party and for America.”

According to Politico, delegates from at least nine state delegations have signed a petition to force a full vote on the convention’s rules. The move is unlikely to unseat Trump as the party’s presumptive nominee, but could embarrass the real estate mogul as well as the GOP.
