The Senate Finance Committee will hold its confirmation hearing for Jack Lew, President Obama’s nominee for treasury secretary, on Wednesday, Feb. 13, the committee announced Monday.
“Mr. Lew has been confirmed by the Senate three times already,” Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), the committee chairman, said in a statement. “I don’t expect there to be any reason why he should not be confirmed this time around as well.”
“We have a tremendous amount of work to do over the next couple months to get our fiscal house in order. It is my hope that — after this thorough vetting process – Jack Lew will be quickly confirmed so he can help tackle our country’s pressing economic issues,” Baucus said.
