Ivanka Trump finally broke her silence about predatory comments her father made on a leaked hot mic tape from 2005, calling those remarks “inappropriate and offensive” in a statement to Fast Company.
Trump issued a one-sentence statement after being interviewed by the magazine for a story published Monday about the stress of the media attention during the election.
“My father’s comments were clearly inappropriate and offensive and I’m glad that he acknowledged this fact with an immediate apology to my family and the American people,” she said.
And while she characterized the statements Donald Trump made about grabbing women “by the pussy” in the “Access Hollywood” recording as unacceptable, she said that stories about him don’t change her view of her father.
“The greatest comfort I have is the fact that I know my father,” Ivanka Trump said. “Most of the people who write about him don’t. I do. So, that gives me an ability to shrug off the things that I read about him that are wrong.”
Trump has been noticeably silent following the release of the tape earlier this month. She did several events on behalf of the campaign, but hasn’t commented on the “Access Hollywood” tape until now.
While Trump denied that her father is sexist, she told Fast Company that she experiences sexism when people refer to her as her father’s “surrogate wife.”
Sorry I admitted to committing sexual assault, everyone. There, that ought to do it.
That’s good! Protect that inheritance!!
What’s 1/4 of six bankruptcies?
The “piece of ass” he’d “like to date” who he has said he likes to kiss as often as he can sounds like an enabler. Until he apologizes to all the women who’ve come out of their shame closet, she needs to STFU.
@peterformaini I’ve heard there were pre-birth agreements that they would be loyal forever no matter what he said or did. Similar to pre-nups but for the unborn.
“He CHEATED on me!”
