Ivanka Trump said in an interview released Thursday that suggestions she’ll fill the first lady’s role in her father’s incoming administration are “inappropriate.”

“What’s your reaction, though, when you hear people say ‘she’s going to be essentially the real first lady’? Does it offend you?” ABC’s Deborah Roberts asked Trump on “20/20.”

“Well, I think it’s an inappropriate observation. There’s one first lady, and she’ll do remarkable things,” Trump replied, apparently referring to her stepmother Melania Trump.

Ivanka Trump had announced that she would move her family to Washington, D.C., as her husband Jared Kushner takes on the role of senior White House adviser to her father.

Melania and Barron Trump do not plan to move to the White House right away.
