Later this month the Israeli and Palestinian Prime Ministers will meet in talks. Palestinian officials say Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad will focus on the ongoing construction of settlements in Palestinian territory, and urge a return to the 2003 “road map.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will urge for the resumption of peace talks without pre-conditions. Talks ended in 2010 after Netanyahu’s government would not go along with a Palestinian call to continue a settlement freeze.
