The Illinois State House passed a gay marriage bill Tuesday evening by a 61-54 margin.

The state senate is expected to vote on final approval of the bill on Tuesday. Gov. Pat Quinn (D) has indicated that he will sign the bill if it comes to his desk.

Illinois would be the 15th state to legalize same-sex marriage.
