Former Ambassador to China and Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman is voting for his former opponent in the Republican primary presidential process, Mitt Romney. But the two aren’t in close contact.

“I support Mitt Romney, I mentioned that a long time ago,” he told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Friday. “I think in order to get the economy right, we’ve got to have somebody who understands how to fire the interests of growth and who can get tax reform through and focus on energy independence with the center piece being natural gas. It’s a huge deal for this country and I think he’s got the wherewithal to make that happen.”

“When was the last time you talked to him?” Mitchell followed up.

“I don’t ever talk to him,” Huntsman said.
