The Huffington Post is sticking with its plan to single out Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, this time by adding editor’s notes to posts about the real estate mogul calling him “a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist.”

The note to readers first appeared on a Wednesday night story about Trump’s appearance on Bill O’ Reilly’s Fox News show.

“Note to our readers: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.,” the postcript reads.

A spokesperson for Huffington Post told Politico, who first reported the story, that the note would appear on all future stories about the ex-reality TV star.

The online publication trumpeted its plans to cover Trump’s campaign as entertainment rather than politics back in July, calling his campaign a “sideshow.”

But HuffPost was forced to backtrack when Trump, who now boasts a double-digit lead in national polls, started to gain traction.

HP lowering itself to the journalistic equivalent of Fox News…Sad

  2. Trump: Thank you. My followers, for once will be happy with HuffPo.

  3. They should never have backtracked on calling him “entertainment.” Even if he is a horror story.

The traction gained because Trump is cult leader. His followers have been rendered incapable of independent thought , and just like folks who are susceptible to a cult leader, want to belong to a group---- strength in numbers. Think $cientology.

  5. But, as Huffpost always maintained, entertaining.
