Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) reportedly compared the Supreme Court decision upholding President Obama’s health care law to the September 11 attacks at a closed door GOP meeting on Thursday, several sources tell Politico.
He immediately apologized.
“My remarks at the Republican Conference following the Supreme Court decision were thoughtless. I certainly did not intend to minimize any tragedy our nation has faced and I apologize,” Pence said in a statement to POLITICO.
Pence is the Republican nominee for the governor of Indiana.
