The House Ethics Committee said Wednesday that it dismissed Rep. Maxine Waters‘ claims that her due process rights were violated during an investigation into alleged misconduct.

Two House Ethics Committee lawyers were suspended in late 2010 because of allegations about their handling of the Waters case and independent counsel was brought in to investigate the matter.

“Outside counsel has concluded, and this Committee has unanimously found, that none of the individual allegations raised, nor the totality of the circumstances of those claims, amount to a deprivation of your due process rights,” the committee said their letter to Waters on Wednesday.

Waters was originally accused of three ethics violations for allegedly intervening on behalf of a minority-owned bank in its request for bailout funds. Her husband owned stock in the bank.
