Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton brushed off an opportunity in an interview aired Sunday to criticize Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for the comments he had made about her husband and former President Bill Clinton.
Trump has criticized the Democratic nominee hopeful and alluded to Bill Clinton’s Monica Lewinsky scandal most recently in a web video.
Hillary Clinton was asked to respond during an interview with CBS News’ “Face the Nation.”
“Well, if he wants to engage in personal attacks from the past, that’s his prerogative,” Clinton said. “You know, so be it.”
She continued and defended her position as an advocate for women’s rights.
“He can say whatever he wants to about me. Let the voters judge that,” Clinton continued. “But I am not going to let him or any of the other Republicans rip away the progress that women have made. It’s been too hard-fought-for. And I’m going to stand up and make it clear there’s a huge difference between us.”
