Rapper and producer T.I. (aka Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr.) should have stuck to promoting his EP, “Da’ Nic.” Instead, in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid on Saturday, he said there’s no way he would vote for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to be President because woman “make rash decisions emotionally.”

T.I. was first asked if he would vote for Kanye West, who announced he would be running for President in 2020, before moving on to Clinton and celebrity tycoon Donald Trump.

Not to be sexist, but I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman. Just because, every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well. Every other position. But, the president? It’s kinda like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally and later. They make very permanent, cemented decisions. And then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen, or they didn’t mean for it to happen. And I sure would hate to just set off a nuke cause a motherfucker, you know what I’m saying.

Kid said world leaders were “sexist as it is” so a female President would be ineffectual.

T.I. said female presidents would be incapable of negotiating foreign policy.

(She) ain’t gonna be able to negotiate the right kinds of foreign policy. The world ain’t ready yet. I think you might be able to get the Lochness Monster elected before you could (elect a woman). It’s not right, it’s not right but I’m just saying, I don’t believe, I don’t think, you know.

Here’s the original interview. They start talking presidential politics at 11:20.

T.I. issued an apology on Twitter by Tuesday morning.

T.I. also said Trump was “interesting” and could be “beneficial to America,” but it was “impossible to be completely supportive of him” because of his racist comments.
