Kanye West told the audience at the Video Music Awards on Sunday night that he will be running for president in 2020.
After a lengthy speech accepting the Video Vanguard Award, West threw an unexpected twist at the audience.
“And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president,” he announced.
The rapper did not go into detail about his politics on Sunday night, but he and wife Kim Kardashian attended a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton earlier in August.

Six months ago, I would have just rolled my eyes. In a post-Trump world, I expect him to make it through several rounds of debates.
At least! He gets thru into the primaries with just, Lookie this now - lookit my wife’s butt! You think Trump knows how to get some? I GOT myself some. That’s why I’d be a great president. I go head to head with some foreign leader dude, I’ll say: See this? See this ASS? That’s mine, dude. You think you big enough to take on that? I don’t think so.
The very first Trumplet. Expect more egotistic celebrities follow the same path. If the idiot Trump can get 30% of the votes, heck I can do better!
Well, I know two people who’d never vote for that talentless hack: Taylor Swift and me.
Prince Charles will be delighted. Having to entertain Kanye and Kim will be the one thing that makes his mother abdicate.
