Presidential Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton tore apart Republican candidate Jeb Bush’s comments on funding women’s health issues at an event in Colorado, according to a Time report.
While defending the Republican-backed effort to pass legislation that would remove the more than $500 million in annual federal funding to Planned Parenthood, Bush questioned whether that much money should be spent on women’s health issues at all.
“You can take dollar for dollar — though I’m not sure we need half a billion dollars for women’s health issues — but if you took dollar for dollar, there are many extraordinarily fine organizations …” Bush said at an event Tuesday.
Not long after his comments were circulated and criticized, Bush said he “misspoke,” and was only referring to the money that funds Planned Parenthood.
Clinton addressed Bush’s statement in Colorado during a campaign event.
“Now, he has got no problem giving billions of dollars away to super wealthy and powerful corporations, but I guess women’s health just isn’t a priority for him,” Clinton said, according to the publication.
Clinton also took to Twitter to voice her concerns.
.@JebBush: You are absolutely, unequivocally wrong. https://t.co/a6O17dlEh4

“I have been, as many of you have, fighting for women and children and families for my entire life,” Clinton continued at the event in Colorado. “I am really tired of the doublespeak. I am tired of women being shamed and blamed and dismissed.”
Watch the excerpt:
Amen to that. Fucking shameless scum bag republicans
Once she’s president she’s going to be saying that a lot.
“I am really tired of the doublespeak. I am tired of women being shamed and blamed and dismissed.”
She keeps that up, and she’ll lose my vote.
Jeb can legitimately argue that he was quoted out of context, that his full sentence said the money should go to organizations other than PP. But he did say those words, and it shows that some part of his brain really does think womens’ healthcare is somewhat unimportant.
She already has mine. An d she does need to stand up against the attacks on women that the GOP emits.
I hope you can reconsider your initial reaction to Clinton’s position. There will be more attacks on women by GOP party leaders, and I’d like you to join in opposition to these attacks.
