Hillary Clinton’s Labor Day rally in Cleveland got off to a rocky start when the former secretary of state had an extended coughing fit on stage on Monday afternoon.
As Clinton was thanking her running mate and the organized labor leaders on stage at the rally, she voice was hoarse and she paused to cough for the first five-plus minutes of the campaign event.
“Everytime I think about Trump, I get allergic,” she joked.
After several more minutes of struggling to get her prepared remarks out, she joked again that she was having “an allergic reaction.”
Clinton’s coughing and sniffling went on long enough that both her running mate Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) and a supporter seated on stage got up to assist her. Several Clinton supporters in the crowd shouted “get her some water!” according to the AP.

NY Times.
Sure to be lead story on CNN and MSNBC tonight? Front page in NYT tomorrow? Is that too cynical?
Please help us, God. Have mercy.
She needs those throat numbing lozenges. Lifesaver in the office for me. It’s the AC that does it.
If it was Gary Johnson he could rightly claim cotton mouth.
Of course. Seems that’s the only way the “liberal” media will cover her rallies — if there is something negative to report about.
