Hedy Epstein, a 90-year-old woman who survived the Holocaust, was arrested on Monday afternoon while protesting Gov. Jay Nixon’s (D) decision to send the National Guard to Ferguson, Mo.
Television station KMOV reported that some of the protestors were arrested for “failure to disperse” after a march in downtown St. Louis. The protestors chanted “National Guard has got to go” as they marched to Nixon’s downtown office.
The Nation spoke with Epstein as she was being escorted to a police van.
“I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager,” Epstein said. “I didn’t think I would have to do it when I was 90. We need to stand up today so that people won’t have to do this when they’re 90.”

Unfortunately, “the struggle continues”.
Yes, the arc bending toward justice is a bit longer than one might have hoped.
But what an admirable person she is.
One has to wonder how the public good is served by arresting a 90 year old woman.
Maybe she could oldsplain (Jewsplain? Ladysplain?) things to John Roberts?
