Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday night defended his contentious radio interview with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Tuesday, during which Hannity called out Cruz for dodging a question about the delegate process.

On Wednesday, Hannity lamented that “this has now happened in the last three interviews with Sen. Cruz.”

“I feel like I’ve been more than fair to him,” Hannity said. “I think it’s a very important question. I don’t think people understand it.”

Hannity later said that he finds the way delegates are selected from state to state to be confusing, adding that “there could be improvements to the system going forward.” And he maintained that he asked Cruz a “legitimate question.”

On Tuesday, Hannity asked Cruz about his strategy to secure delegates. In response, the Texas senator said that most people don’t care about delegate rules and that only Donald Trump supporters complain about them.

Hannity then tore into Cruz for not directly answering the question.

“Why do you do this every single time –” Hannity said. “You gotta stop! Every time I have you on the air, and I ask a legitimate question, you try to throw this in my face. I’m getting sick of it. I’ve had you on more than any other candidate on radio and TV. So if I ask you a legitimate question to explain to the audience, why don’t you just answer it?”
