Fox News commentator Sean Hannity on Wednesday followed up on his heated exchange with Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), calling the progressive lawmaker “incoherent.”

Hannity said Ellison “really started grasping at straws” when the Democrat was asked if it’s immoral to add to the national debt. Ellison responded to the question by calling the conservative pundit “immoral” for saying “things that aren’t true.”

Hannity then brought on former Rep. J.C. Watts (R-OK), and the two began by touching on Ellison’s appearance.

“I’m disappointed I couldn’t sell the popcorn and Coke to that. That was entertaining,” Watts said while laughing.

Hannity said in the past he would have been more aggressive in his response to a guest like Ellison, but instead he opted to let the Minnesota congressman “rant away.”

“I just gave him the rope and said, ‘Go. Here you go. Rant away,'” Hannity said.

“You were pretty mild,” Watts said in agreement.
