Even though the government’s health care website may be fixed, a new poll finds that President Barack Obama’s insurance markets haven’t impressed most consumers. Although negative perceptions of the health care rollout have eased, a new Associated Press-GfK poll finds that two-thirds of Americans say things still aren’t going well. A hacker breached HealthCare.gov in July and uploaded malicious malware to the website, but did not access any personal information, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Department of Health and Human Services noticed the attack on the federal health insurance enrollment website last week, and said that the hacker was only able to access one server with a test code.

An HHS official told the Journal that this is the first breach of the website the department has discovered, but said the attack raised concerns about potential for additional incidents.

“We have taken measures to further strengthen security,” HHS said in a statement, according to the Journal.

  1. If you have a web site, it’s not a matter of IF you will be hacked, it is WHEN you will be hacked.
If it was built by CONTRACTORS your chances of a hack just increased by 50%.

  2. Now the RWNJ can yell failure, when, in actuality, this was lucky and maybe they even had proper segmentation to prevent further access. The only problem is this was malware uploaded, which, could have forced its way onto user’s machines as opposed to entrenching itself to steal exchange data.

  3. I’d say Richard Nixon is smiling in Hell someplace, but by today’s GOP “standards” he’s positively progressive and might actually have endorsed national health care program.
