Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Sunday stood by his claim that President Obama’s foreign policies “are getting a lot of people killed.”
Graham made the comments after the Paris attack on Fox News. He said that Obama’s effort to fill “campaign promises” like closing the Guantanamo Bay prison and ending the war in Iraq were “coming home to haunt us.”
On Sunday, NBC’s “Meet the Press” Host Chuck Todd asked Graham if he meant to use that language.
“Is that proper rhetoric? You think the President of the United States is getting people killed?” he asked.
“I think his policies are getting people killed,” Graham responded. “Almost 300,000 people have been killed in Syria on his watch.”
The senator said that the Obama administration needs to better address the conflict in Syria.
“Hell on earth is about to descend in Syria, and it matters to us,” Graham said. “The safe havens in Jordan and Syria and Iraq by ISIL and other terrorist groups are a direct threat to the United States. Letting people out of Gitmo in this environment, I think is irresponsible. So, yes, his campaign promises should be adjusted based on reality.”
Is he still running?
So everyone in a foreign country that gets killed is Obama’s fault…got it you little southern belle…oh havbe taken a look at the war rhetoric you’ve spewed over the last year?
Quelle horreur! One can only imagine how many people would have been killed by Obama’s policies had the Republican Congress, which has blocked all of his proposed legislation, actually allowed him to have any policies.
I see Miss Lindsey wants to put boots on the ground in all countries around the world with the exception of north Africa
“The senator said that the Obama administration needs to better address the conflict in Syria.”
To refresh your memory, Sen. Graham, here is a recap of how Congress ‘addressed’ the conflict in Syria:
Republican Congressmen: Obama needs to do something! He has to lead! He can’t keep leading from behind!
Obama: I am ready to take military action if the Syrians do not give up chemical weapons.
Republican Congressmen: Obama can’t do that! He’s not a dictator!. Only WE have the authority to declare war!
Obama: I still feel I have the authority to act militarily, but I also feel that our position would be stronger if we as a nation were united on this. And I also recognize that many in Congress have strong opinions on this issue, and I welcome their input.
Republican Congressmen: (crickets)
Now do you remember?
