A spokeswoman for Al Gore flatly denied late Thursday that the former vice president was considering a run for the White House in 2016, according to Politico.
The denial from Gore spokeswoman Betsy McManus followed a report earlier in the day from BuzzFeed that cited anonymous Democratic insiders who said they were exploring the possibility that Gore could run. The BuzzFeed report stopped short of saying Gore, who won the popular vote during the 2000 presidential race but ultimately lost the election, was involved in the discussions.
“There’s no truth to it,” McManus told Politico when contacted about the 2016 rumors. “He’s laser-focused on solving the climate crisis.”
Does it come down to tons of people are want anyone but Hilary Clinton that they’re willing to go for a disembodied head in a jar instead?
The NYT is insisting his spokesperson went on to say he invented 2016 rumors…
