GOP Rep. Bachus Will Not Seek Another Term

Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-AL) said Monday that he will not seek re-election next year.

Bachus, who’s served in the House since 1993, made the announcement on local television station WBRC. He is chairman emeritus of the House Financial Services Committee.

Correction: Bachus is chairman emeritus of the House Financial Services Committee. The current chair is Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX).
