Google on Tuesday unveiled a new “experiment” in real-time global weather tracking designed specifically to work in its Chrome web browser. Called “Cloud Globe,” the web app shows ” hourly snapshots” of “storms and cloud clover,” including tropical storms. It also has three different views upon which the aforementioned information is layered: One showing the storms themselves, one showing ocean currents, and another showing vegetation, to indicate which regions are receiving the most rainfall.
