As part of Google’s announcement of the new version of the Android operating system, Jelly Bean (4.1), at a developer’s conference Wednesday, Google engineers demonstrated “Android Voice Search,” a voice-activated Web search function that can respond to queries with a voice of its own, providing basic definitions of words on command or bringing up pictures of animals as asked.
Tech bloggers following the event on Twitter commented on how the application seemed similar to Apple’s Siri voice-activated assistant found on the iPhone and soon, the iPad.
