Google’s Sergey Brin Says High-Tech Glasses Could Hit In 2013

Google co-founder Sergey Brin turned the tables during an interview on California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom’s talk show on Current TV, snapping a photo of the host with a prototype pair of Google’s forthcoming high-tech, computerized glasses. 

“The idea is you that you want to be free to experience the world without futzing with a phone,” Brin told Newsom in the interview posted online Tuesday. Brin later let Newsom briefly wear the glasses and see the photo that Brin snapped moments before, projected on the glasses lens. 

Brin told Newsom that Google’s glasses, codenamed Project Glass, had been in the works for two to three years, and would not be available until 2013 at the earliest. Watch the full interview here:
