Google late Tuesday night announced it was modifying its most popular service, Google Search, by moving the “search tools” from the left side of the screen to the top, a change Google said was designed to offer a “simpler, cleaner design on the search results page.” The search giant noted that the change had already been in effect for tablets and smartphones, indicating that Google wants to continue to unify its products around a mobile-device optimized look.
