Republican presidential candidate Jim Gilmore found himself trending on Twitter Thursday night after spending months outside of the spotlight.

The former Virginia governor, who has been polling at the bottom of the field since he joined the race in the summer of 2015, made his second appearance on a Republican debate stage during Thursday’s Fox News undercard debate.

He spent much of his allotted time blasting the media’s bias against lower-tier candidates.

Gilmore introduced himself to the Iowa audience by saying that he had focused his campaign on New Hampshire and that the Hawkeye State was simply “not the place” where he’d chosen to devote his efforts. The Iowa caucus will be held on Feb. 1.
