George W. Bush said that his new presidential library in Dallas, Texas is not meant to re-litigate his presidency in an interview with USA Today published Sunday.
“There’s no need to defend myself,” Bush said. “I did what I did and ultimately history will judge.”
The dedication of George W. Bush Presidential Center, which includes a library, museum and public policy institute at Southern Methodist University, is Thursday.
The Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks are a major feature of the museum.
From USA Today:
The Iraq War, the 2007 troop surge there, the 2008 financial meltdown and the response to Katrina in 2005 are featured in an interactive exhibit called “decision points theater” where visitors can assess “the decisions that I had to make and the recommendations I received,” he says.
