Former New York Gov. George Pataki (R) launched a 2016 presidential bid on Thursday with an online video announcement.
“The question is no longer about what our government should do, but what we should do about our government, about our divided union, about our uncertain future,” he says in the video uploaded to YouTube.
Pataki, who served as governor of New York from 1996 to 2005, touted his time leading a blue state as a Republican.
“My vision was not a partisan division, it was a vision about people, about what we could accomplish together,” he said.
Pataki enters a crowded Republican presidential field on the heels of former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), who announced his presidential bid on Wednesday.
