Reuters reports that a suicide bomber has killed 15 and injured at least 40 Iraqi Shi’ites at a funeral procession in Baquba on Monday. The bombing is the latest in a series of attacks that have killed more than 130 individuals in June. Several high-ranking members of the armed forces were attending the funeral, but it was unclear whether they were among the casualties.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing, but an al-Qaeda affiliated organization, Islamic State of Iraq, has claimed responsibility for many of the recent attacks.
