Steven Crowder, the Fox News contributor who was punched on camera during right-to-work protests in Michigan this week, wrote on Twitter Thursday that he has hired “heavily armed” security to protect his wife after Crowder recieved death threats.

Crowder has so far declined to involve police in the punching incident. Crowder has offered to fight the man who punched him in an MMA-sanctioned bout for charity. Video — which Crowder has been criticized for editing — went viral. On Thursday he tweeted that the attention has led him to hire an armed guard.

“Right now I have a former police officer, heavily armed at my house protecting my wife,” he wrote. “The threats are severe. Prayers appreciated.”
