Fox News host Eric Bolling used a segment on Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) discussing banking regulations to compare her to deceased star Whitney Houston and mockingly suggest they were both on drugs.

“Congresswoman, you saw what happened to Whitney Houston,” Bolling said on Thursday morning’s edition of Fox & Friends. “Step away from the crack pipe.”

He later added he was “just kidding about the crack pipe,” but did not apologize.

An aide to Waters said her office was aware of the line, but declined to comment on the matter.

Bolling made the comment after he and his hosts had watched a video of Waters giving a speech in which she referred to the House Republican leaders, John Boehner and Eric Cantor, as “demons.”
