Fox Business Network’s Republican presidential debate on Tuesday drew 13.5 million viewers, close to the 14 million viewers who tuned in to the CNBC debate in October, according to Nielson Media Research.

The Tuesday night debate was also streamed online, and spokesperson for Fox Business Network also told CNN that the stream hit 1.4 million concurrent viewers, more than the 1.3 million who tuned in for NBC’s Super Bowl livestream.

Although slightly fewer people tuned into Fox Business Network on Tuesday night, the Republican National Committee praised the Fox Business Network moderators for outperforming the CNBC journalists.

“Debates need to focus on the issues, and that goal was accomplished tonight,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement. “Our candidates, not the moderators, were at the center of tonight’s debate, and they were all treated with fairness and respect.”
