Former News International executives Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson appeared in court Wednesday to face charges of allegedly hacking into mobile phones and obtaining voice mails, the New York Times reports.
Coulson is the former editor of now-defunct News of the World. He later went on to serve as British Prime Minister David Cameron’s top press aide. Brooks is the former chief executive of News International, the British newspaper subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp.
