Richie Havens, the folk singer and guitarist who performed at Woodstock in 1969, died Monday, his agency announced. He was 72.
In the statement released by The Roots Agency, Havens was hailed as ” fiery, poignant, soulful.”
“RICHIE HAVENS was gifted with one of the most recognizable voices in popular music,” it read.
